Action research

Toipic :

            Improve students skill of writing sentences on their own 

Introduction:

                       My exploratory research has shown the precise issues I have with teaching and learning in my classroom.I made an effort to remove any barriers between myself and my classroom after that.

Action research process :

              From my Exploratary reasearch i find out that students may know vocabulary but due to lack of confident and lack of practice they are not trying to write the sentences in English . As English is a secondary language students didn't use it in regular life situations. They hesitate to speak and write in English .And They dont know the structure of a sentence ,so they don't know how to write the sentence.

              Eventhough writing practices are given by the teacher in the classroom , they only focusing on curriculum topics . As a teacher I m also giving such a kind of activities . So when I asked them to write a sentence they seeking academic sentences which was taught by the teacher and byhearted by them .

Stages of my Action Research:

                ☀Design the activities for my students level 

                ☀Discuss about those activities 

Through google forms research discussion

                ☀Implement them and get results 

                ☀Analyse the result

               

Remedies:

             To remove this obstacle what I planned was to implement some activities , for that I chose 5 students whose are reflecting different learning level from 3 rd standard. Because this is a pandamic situation I can't contact every students . 2 of them were very good at their studies . 2 of them were medium level , 1 of them was poor at his studies . 

            I analysed the answers from  exploratory research and I designed following activities which can help my 3 level of students . 

            

           🔆 I  changed my teaching method that students able to write they dont need to byheart to write a sentence 

           🔆 I allowed them to write what they wanna write even it is about Tv shows , their routine , their likes.  

           🔆 I started to use sentences while I had conversation with my children .

           🔆 Encourage them to speak simple sentences in English language 

           🔆 At the initial level I gave some topic and needed vocabulary to boost up their writing . 

            🔆I asked them to speak in English . It will help the children to get confident and knows the structure of a sentence 

            🔆I gave some written examples so the children can follow them to write sentences . 

            🔆 I focus on writing structure of sentences so I omit errors made by children .

Results from my action research :

            After giving these works studets trying their best to write sentences . It is really a good start . It improves my students participations and writing skills .
